The FTTH Invisible Fiber Optic Cable (G657, transparent sheath, indoor wiring, 0.9 mm / 1.2 mm PVC) is engineered for end-user indoor deployment in FTTH projects. Indoor wiring is the most demanding segment of the network, requiring a careful balance of line safety, indoor aesthetics, and ease of installation. Invisible optical cables were developed specifically to meet these requirements.
The invisible optical cable is the abbreviated name for a transparent tight-buffer optical fiber cable. It is composed of a G657 optical fiber, fiber gel, and a transparent tight-buffer sheath. Whether the outer layer requires a hot-melt adhesive coating is determined by the actual application requirements. Each layer is extruded step by step using precision extrusion technology. The diameter of the invisible optical cable without hot-melt adhesive is 0.9 mm, while the version with hot-melt adhesive measures 1.2 mm. Sheaths can be manufactured from PVC or nylon; conventional invisible cables use PVC, while nylon may be selected when higher hardness and tensile strength are required.
Invisible optical cables are the ideal solution where users do not accept conventional drop cable or where entry is difficult — particularly in older residential areas and office spaces. The cable uses G.657A fiber with a minimum bending radius of 5 mm. During installation, there is no need for nails, brackets, holes, or conduits at the approach point, which avoids damage to the original indoor structure and eliminates safety hazards such as cable sagging or falling off caused by discontinuous laying. Because the cable is almost transparent, it does not affect indoor aesthetics. The construction method is simple: only handheld heating installation tools are required to complete the laying project.
