The water blocking yarn for optical cable is made of polyester industrial filament and cross-linked polyacrylic acid expansion material. It has the advantages of fast water absorption, high expansion rate, strong tensile resistance, no acid and alkali, no compatibility impact on the cable, heat resistance, chemical stability and no corrosion. In the process of optical cable manufacturing, materials such as filling ointment, water blocking tape and binding yarn can be omitted.
The water blocking yarn has the advantages of convenient use, simple process, stable structure, reliable water blocking, clean environment and no oily pollution. It is mainly suitable for waterproof communication cable, cable core binding of dry optical cable and cross-linked polyethylene insulated power cable, especially for submarine optical cable.
